The Furness Controls FCO284 flow-leak tester has set the standard for testing gas appliances and gas appliance sub-assemblies to all relevant European Standards. Designed specifically to meet the requirements of the gas appliance industry, the FCO284 combines accuracy, reliability and ease of use. Ideally suited for use in the gas industry, the FCO284 is also highly suitable for testing many other product types such as filters, heat exchangers and large vessels. Continuous leak mode
The FCO284 can be switched to run in "continuous flow" mode. This potentially allows for a product under test to be repaired while still being tested negating the need for a full re-test on the product. The operator can easily see if the rectification work is successful or not.
Automatic pressure & temperature compensation
The FCO284 features pressure and temperature compensation giving automatic correction to the leak reading regardless of the actual test pressure and temperature. The leak reading displayed is the equivalent leak that would occur at the pressure and temperature entered in the test data. This negates the need to constantly monitor the set test pressure.
Single test or multiple test variants available
The single test model is ideally suited to where a single product type is being tested on a production line. The enhanced multiple test variant is available for when more than one product type is to be tested in the production environment. Differing product types can be tested at differing test pressures, as is necessary. The multiple test variant allows for a sequence of tests to be programmed into the instrument for when more than one test is required on a given product type.
Clear pass & fail indication
The FCO284's front panel indicates the status of the product tested, clearly displaying a pass or fail result at the end of the test. The "PASS" & "FAIL" indication can be enhanced by coupling a light stack to the instruments electronic status outputs. This feature makes it nice and easy for the operator to determine the product's result.
High pressure test variants available
Although originally intended for use in the gas appliance industry where test pressures are relatively low, the ease of use and the popularity of the continuous test option of the FCO284 have led to variants being made available for test pressures up to 8bar. The high pressure models are ideally suited to the filter, heat exchanger and many other industries.
Automatic sensing of fill & stabilisation
Unlike traditional air pressure decay leak testers, the FCO284 features automatic sensing of fill and stabilisation that can lead to reduced test cycle times. This makes setting up of the FCO284 very simple indeed.
